Unshakeable faith is actionable faith.
Just as the body is lifeless without breath
Just as the cooling mechanism for overheating is sweat
So are good works without faith
One needs the other to endure life’s race
Not convinced? Let’s take a look and break it down.
Faith without works, is not really all that sound
For that kind of faith is lip service, and not deed
Another way to sum it up is to call it hypocrisy
For one who says they have faith, but their life shows fear and doubt
Has some things to work on, to move the deadness out
For unshakeable faith can move mountains seen and unseen
Unshakeable faith doesn’t fret and fall apart during the ‘in-between’
Unshakeable faith can lose everything tangible but still give God praise
The marriage, the house, the job, and still say God lead the way
Unshakeable faith has friends who flip the script and leave them be
Yet still ministers to those same individuals as God directs and leads
Unshakeable faith can separate the sin from the person
And not allow a God-moment to be ruined by high emotions
Unshakeable faith looks the enemy square in the eyes
And reminds them that God, not man is the ultimate prize
Unshakeable faith can stand all alone despite who’s supposed to be there
And stand strong and firm, without a concern or a care
Unshakeable faith takes the hits and the accusations
And praises God for turning them into strength and elevation
Unshakeable faith can put up the good deeds to match the words
And is consistent, accountable, and reliable, despite fleshly lack of rewards
Unshakeable faith will soar high like an eagle in the sky
Because unshakeable faith knows how to, with God, always remain nigh
James 2:18-26 New Living Translation (NLT)
vs.19-20 - You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God.[a] Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless?
vs.23-26 - And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.”He was even called the friend of God. So you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone. Rahab the prostitute is another example. She was shown to be right with God by her actions when she hid those messengers and sent them safely away by a different road. Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works.
