Transformational Faith

What are the Faith Choices that you walk in? Why is it easy to be fired up on Sunday during and after the sermon, but sometimes hard to draw from that teaching for the rest of the week? Why do you feel motivation or inspiration instead of transformation? Motivation is based on a goal or objective; inspiration is based on a feeling or filling whereas transformation is based on change. Transformational Faith takes the motivation and inspiration and puts it into action which results in doing what you’ve never done before.

Speak Life

It is easy to say, “Speak life, not death.” Or “Speak those things that are not as if they are.” While we know these are scripture-based statements, how much action do you put into them? How much faith do you mix with speaking life so that you can see the life that you are speaking? Or the things that are not in place now as if they are? How much faith do you exercise to see that relationship with God like Jesus, where you are guided by God every step of the way? How much faith do you practice seeing your finances move from living paycheck to paycheck to walking in purposeful prosperity? How much faith do you walk in to see yourself lose those 20 pounds, tone those muscles, or run those marathons you have dreamed about? When you speak life, is it just to sound good or appear as if you have more faith than you actually do? Transformational faith walks into a thing seeing the thing already done, not wishing it would be.

Shift Your Thinking

Transformational faith requires a shift in your thinking because it takes what the mind knows as real and evident and takes it a step further so that you live with the expectancy mentioned in Psalm 5:3. If you are expecting something, then you look forward to it, or you regard it as already happening (Dictionary.com) and if you regard it as already happening, then you see it as if it is, and not as it currently is. When God gives you visions, hopes, or dreams, it is up to you to hold on to them even when you are the only one holding on to them. First off, be sure it is from God, then write it down, post it on your wall, or write it in the memo on your phone so you don’t forget. When you wait expectantly for the Lord to do what He said He would do, you aren’t just waiting without doing anything, you are waiting in action working towards the thing that God said He would do. Authors do not become best selling authors sitting in front of their laptop or computer staring out of the window. They become best selling authors actually typing their stories, researching the information, and putting it in one place for publication. Well-known actors do not become well-known from sitting in front of the television hoping they can act. They become well-known by taking acting lessons, practicing, and going on auditions for various parts to land the roles. Transformational faith puts action behind the waiting in expectancy in order to meet God where He is already working in your life.

Believe In You Like God Does

There is a Christmas classic “Santa Claus is coming to town” with a song titled “Put One Foot In Front Of The Other” and the chorus is:

Put one foot in front of the other

And soon you'll be walking 'cross the floor

Put one foot in front of the other

And soon you'll be walking out the door

Based on James 2:26, we know this scripture tells us that faith without works is dead; in other words, you must do something. You can’t get through the door of doubt if you allow your mind to tell you to stay in the limiting beliefs you are living in. You will never enjoy the fresh air from the window of opportunity if you are too afraid to lift the window to let the air in. God’s word has provided the instructions, God’s spirit has shown you the visions, and God Himself is “extremely fond of you” (from the movie “The Shack”), the rest is up to you. God is still working in your life and around your life every day, but He will not force you to join Him in the miraculous works He is doing, for He gives us a choice. Will you choose Transformational Faith? Will you move from just being motivated and inspired to being transformed? Will you believe in you and the gifts and talents God has blessed you with for His purposes for your life and walk transformationally into who you are called to be? Transformational faith lives in purpose intentionally, one faith step at a time to accomplish what God believes can be done.

“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father.” ~John 14:12-13 (NLT)
